Hearts Opened to Christ in Umeå

“Let the gospel of Jesus be louder than evil.”

This past weekend we had the privilege of conducting an outreach in Umeå. It was a powerful and inspiring time where the Lord worked through His Word.

Day 1 – Friday, 15 August 2025

Our outreach began under challenging weather conditions—strong winds and heavy rain. Yet, we reminded ourselves that as soldiers of Christ we are called to serve in every season. Joshua encouraged us with these words: “If we can go to work during the rain, then surely we can also go for outreach during the rain.”

Upon arrival, we set up our tent together with the brethren, prayed, and shared Holy Communion before beginning the day’s activities.

We started with worship and the Word, declaring the good news: “Salvation is free—Jesus has already paid the price!” (Romans 10:9; John 3:16). Despite the rain, people listened attentively, and we shared the gospel with joy. After a time of preaching and worship, we walked through the city, speaking with people, praying for them, and sharing the message of Jesus.

We thank God that two individuals gave their lives to Christ and received Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Some we spoke with expressed different beliefs—trusting in themselves claiming to be gods to themselves, and believing in nature, or in human strength rather than God. While their hearts were not yet open to receive Jesus, we believe the seeds of the Word were planted and will grow in God’s timing. Please continue to pray that the Lord opens spiritual eyes and that the Holy Spirit convicts hearts of sin and truth.

Day 2 – Saturday, 16 August 2025

The second day brought another test with the weather. Forecasts predicted rain throughout the day, and as we traveled, heavy rain began to fall. We prayed earnestly for God’s mercy, and by the time we reached our destination, the rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds. In God’s perfect timing, the rain only returned once we had finished the outreach.

During this day of ministry, the Lord touched hearts in a remarkable way. A young woman approached us and said she wanted to believe in Jesus. We praised God for preparing her heart beforehand. Later, three young men who identified as Christians but had never personally received Jesus came forward, and we led them into salvation.

Evening Service

After the outreach, we returned for the evening service, which was both powerful and Spirit-filled. The Word was shared by Marko Penttinen, while Leya led the meeting. Worship was led by Ida and Joshua. And declaration’s prayers were led by Pr.Joshua and Elijah.

At the close of the service, we encouraged everyone to be still and listen to the Lord. In that silence, Joshua felt led by the Holy Spirit to call forward a young visitor. When asked if he had received Jesus, he responded: “No, I want to, but I don’t know how.” Praise God—this was the very reason you had been brought there said Joshua. We led him to Christ, and he received Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. His joy was overwhelming as he testified that he had experienced exactly what he needed in order to believe. We gave him a Bible and shared scriptures including Romans 10:9, John 1:10, and Mark 16:17.

Conclusion

This was truly a miracle-filled weekend where several souls were welcomed into God’s kingdom. We are reminded of the words of Jesus: “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:7)

We give all glory to God for what He has done in Umeå. Please continue to pray for the new believers, for those who heard the gospel but have not yet responded, and for future outreaches—that the light of Christ may shine brighter than the darkness.

Encouragement and Continued Support

We ask for your prayers—for every soul we encountered. Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in their hearts, bringing conviction, transformation, and growth in the knowledge of God.

As Jesus said in John 16:8, the Holy Spirit will reprove the world of sin. Our prayer is that the Word of God will spread and multiply, that righteousness will increase in our land, and that many more will come to know Christ.

Join Us in the Campaign

We invite you to partner with us in continuing Christ’s Campaign. The only candidate who must win is Jesus. Together, let us go out and make His name known.
